Job Description

The purpose of the Bond Senior Warehouse Supervisor is to manage inventory received into the bond store which includes the physical receipt, administration and recording into the bond register. Additionally, the role involves picking of sales orders and to request customs clearance. This is done through adhering to South African Revenue Services (SARS) rules and regulations in order to ensure compliance and governance.

1. Job Objectives and Functions

Customs Releases

  • Verify warehouse stock entry vs packing list vs load.
  • Create a batch clearing instruction and submit for clearance.
  • To Validate cleared customs documents vs batch document.

Bond Store Inventory Management

  • Accurately put-away of physical stock from inbound P&D to bond final location.
  • Conduct cycle counts on stock received.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliation of Coppertone physical stock on hand vs bond register to give visibility of outstanding VAT and Duty.

Coppertone Sales Order Picking

  • Ensure all required resources for picking are available.
  • Ensure that start-up procedures are routinely and effectively executed.
  • Release Coppertone sales orders and assigns picking work to MHE operators.
  • Monitor the picking progress on the ERP system.
  • Resolve escalated challenges regarding Bond short stock in conjunction with the inventory department
  • Monitor picker performance and take the necessary corrective action to improve picker efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure all worked released is timeously completed and no work ages beyond the allocated time period.
  • Ensure that all picked work is closed and put to Coppertone outbound P&D location.
  • Evaluate completed orders in relation to cut-off times and determine the probability of meeting the cut-off by identifying potential challenges and implementing corrective measures.

Clearing agent (Invoice Validation)

  • To validate billing package vs customs clearance document (XDP).

People Management

  • Prioritize staff member’s work and deadlines as well as controlling their outputs, scheduling their tasks, approving leave, conducting performance appraisals and responsible for first level of discipline.
  • Responsible for the development of team members by conducting on-the-job training or refresher training.
  • Monitor and manage labour productivity.

Cost Control

  • To effectively manage, minimise and avoid stock losses.

Continuous Improvement

  • Data collection and analysis.
  • Problem solving.
  • Create and update standard operating procedures.

Health, Safety & Housekeeping

  • Apply the Barron 6S housekeeping principles to ensure the workstation is tidy.
  • Responsible for ensuring that health and safety policies are adhered to.
